TPDC Confirms 2.17Tcf Onshore Gas Discovery in Tanzania’s Ruvu Basin

The Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation has confirmed that Ruvu Basin explorer Dodsal Resources was 2.17 trillion cubic feet s earlier reported.

According to TPDC UAE based Dodsal Resources discovered gas from the Mambakofi-1 well in Ruvu basin in April 2015 with the corporation having received the results after thorough analysis that included wire logging, taking and calculations  of measurements in regards to pressure and depth as well as collection of gas samples for further analysis.

Earlier analysis put the discovered gas reserves at 160Bcf or 0.16Tcf according to TPDC but further tests saw the discovery increased by 2.01 Tcf leading to the 2.17Tcf announcement.

Following the announcement Dodsal now has to undertake a drill stem test and submit an appraisal programme to the Tanzania government.

TPDC also says Dodsal has met all work commiments as per the production sharing agreement and the Petroleum Act 2015 section number 64 and 65.
