Second Local Content Convention set for June in Nairobi
The second local content convention will be held from the 16th-19th June in Nairobi bringing together local and international players in the oil and gas industry with the objective of creating risks and synergies.
Among topics to be discussed include: Realities of Developing and Implementing Local Content, Business Opportunities in Emerging Oil and Gas Sector as well as Building Capacity for Local Content Development.
Delegates will also be informed of the current industry and market updates and the development of Local Content Framework in East Africa region.
Last year the convention which was organized by Oil and Energy Services brought together over 400 local, regional and international industry participants to discuss ways of developing the capabilities and competitiveness of indigenous businesses and workforce in the sector.
The convention has been endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum – Kenya National Oil Corporation of Kenya, Oil and Gas Contractors Association of Kenya, Kenya Oil and Gas Association, the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, UK Trade and Investment and the Delegation of Germany Industry and Commerce in Kenya (AHK), among others.
