Mozambique opens 15 new blocks in Fifth License Round
The Institute of National Petroleum (INP) on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Mozambique has opened the competitive bidding round to explore for hydrocarbons in the offshore Rovuma, offshore Zambezi and Angoche and onshore around the Pande-Temane concession and Palmeira areas in London.
A total of fifteen blocks have been included in the Fifth License Round comprising some 76,800 sq kms of acreage will be included in the round.
The Fifth Licensing Round is scheduled to close on 20th of January 2015 saw the formal announcement held for invited companies at the London Hilton Hotel yesterday with bids expected to be evaluated in February.
Following these contract negotiations will proceed with the signing of contracts expected thereafter.
Among blocks offered by Mozambique include six offshore blocks in the central Zambezi Delta, two more off Angoche in the northern province of Nampula, three new areas of the northern Rovuma Basin among others
Further details of the 5th License Round, including Application Guidelines, the Model Contract, the Petroleum Law, Petroleum Regulations, Bidding Parameters, Technical Data and Data Packages and Data Room access, were expected after the announcement on the Institute of National Petroleum (INP) website.
