DR CONGO: EQX Biome Bids to Implement a $6bn Economically Successful Protected Area at Virunga to Halt Oil Exploration

EQX Biome is looking to halt oil drilling on 28m hectares in the Virunga Park of pristine rainforests & other ecosystems by instead implementing a $6bn Economically Successful Protected Area (ESPA) covering 30% of natural areas.

According to EQX Biome this is the revolutionary approach to leverage financial markets to protect the world’s remaining biodiversity in the DRC.
