Anadarko, Maurel et Prom, PTTEP exit Mozambique Rovuma Onshore Concession
Oslo and AIM listed explorer Wentworth Resources is currently holding discussions with state owned Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos de Mocambique (ENH) to assume operatorship of the Rovuma onshore concession after former operator Anadarko and joint venture partners and Maurel et Prom and PTTEP relinquished their participation interest effective 31 August 2015.
Also up for discussion is the assignment of the relinquishing parties’ participation interest to the remaining parties in the Concession, selection.
Wentworth resources adds that together with the other remaining partner in the concession ENH which currently has 15 percent participating interest will also be determining the appraisal acreage for Tembo-1 discovery and agreeing to a multi-year appraisal plan.
The Rovuma onshore concession located in the north-eastern Mozambique bordering the Rovuma River to the north and extending east into the Indian Ocean has to date recorded one discovery in December 2014 at the Tembo-1 well which encountered 11 meters of natural gas net pay while another well Kifaru-1 well in 2015 was unsuccessful.
