Afren corruption investigation report expected in mid-October
Afren an independent oil & gas company listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, with a diversified portfolio of production, development and exploration assets in 10 African countries and Kurdistan region of Iraq says it expects the report from the independent review being conducted by Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP in mid-October.
The report that will provide details on alleged receiving of unauthorised payments by the CEO Osman Shahenshah and the COO, Shahid Ullah.
To date Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP according to Afren has identified no evidence during the course of the expanded.
“The Board remains of the view that the assets and operational position of the Company have not been negatively affected,” reads a statement by Afren.
The Company adds it continues to keep the FCA informed of the progress of the investigation.
In Africa Afren has operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Seychelles, Madagascar, Nigeria and South Africa.
