Ethiopia’s Adigala Block 2D seismic 50 percent complete – Genel Energy
Genel Energy has announced that it is half way through a 2D seismic survey commenced in the second quarter of 2014 in the Ethiopia’s onshore Adigala block.
According to the latest report the seismic that was to refine a number of existing leads into drill ready prospects.
The Adigala block has an existing 520km of 2D seismic was reprocessed in 2012 and augmented by a Full Tensor Gravity survey.
Genel energy says the integration of these data has provided evidence that all the elements of a working petroleum system exist on the Adigala Block. Oil seeps and surface outcrops support the presence of a mature and active Jurassic oil prone system.
New Age is the operator in the block while Genel Energy has 40 percent interest in the block following a government approval in February with the acquisition completed in March 2014.
