2nd Bidding Round For Geologic And Geophyisical Data Acquisition In Mozambique Extended
The National Petroleum Institute (INP), an institution under guardianship of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy has announced the extension of the 2nd Tender for acquisition of Geological and Geophysical data.
The tender was launched following the award of Exploration and Production Areas under the 5th Mozambique bidding round and the need to acquire data to be made available for the next bidding round.
The areas to be subjected to the acquisition are Rovuma Basin, South Rovuma Basin, Zambeze Delta, Onshore South Mozambique and Mozambique Basin.
INP says it wishes to acquire modern seismic data sets to achieve the broadest possible seismic bandwidth. An optimal seismic signal penetration at low frequencies is necessary either for shallow or deep targets, while the preservation of highest possible frequencies is required to improve the interpretation of architectural elements for all likely targets.
This implies to preserve the lowest possible frequencies while preserving the high frequencies of the seismic spectrum. The dataset shall also be AVO compliant (full reliability of amplitude variation with offsets).
INP adds it wishes to also acquire modern high quality potential field data, Controlled Source Electromagnetic Data and Drop Core to help in the determination of the hydrocarbon potential of defined onshore and offshore areas.
