Call for Comments on Draft Uganda Standards for Oil and Gas Upstream Equipment and Materials

Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), through the Technical Committee (UNBS/ TC 16/ SC2/WG1) on Drilling, Development and Production equipments and materials, is developing Standards for the oil and gas sector. The committee has completed discussions and adopted the following draft standards.

  1. ISO 10423: 2009 Petroleum and natural gas industries — Drilling and production equipment — Wellhead and christmas tree equipment
  2. DUS ISO 13535: Petroleum and natural gas industries — Drilling and production equipment — Hoisting equipment
  3. DUS ISO 13534: Petroleum and natural gas industries — Drilling and production equipment — Inspection, maintenance, repair and remanufacture of hoisting equipment
  4. DUS ISO 13626: Petroleum and natural gas industries — Drilling and production equipment — Drilling and well-servicing structures
  5. ISO 14310:2008 Petroleum and natural gas industries — Downhole equipment — Packers and bridge plugs

The draft standards are International Standards (ISO) being proposed for adoption as Uganda Standards. They are now being presented to the general public to provide comments on their suitability for implementation.
